Orange Bay Railway Station

The Orange Bay Railway Station was built in 1896 and boasts features that are typical of most Jamaican railway stations.

The station demonstrates Jamaican Georgian features. Above the entrance hallway of the structure are the station master’s quarters, which are constructed entirely of timber. This section is covered by a gable-end zinc roof, and the cantilevered ends are supported by several timber posts. The building also features a combination of glass recessed panel doors and sash windows.

The railway station went out of operation with the rest of the railway in the late 1980s/early 1990s and was declared a historic site by the Jamaica National Heritage Trust on the 10th of February 2003.
