← All DepartmentsThe Corporate Services Department functions as the central support and governance arm of the JNHT, providing integrated oversight of financial management, human resources, information technology, administration, and corporate planning. The Department ensures that the institutional framework required for the effective execution of the Trust’s heritage mandate is maintained and continuously strengthened.
Operating within the Government of Jamaica’s public financial management and accountability framework, the department plays a critical role in ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, policies, and audit requirements, while promoting efficiency, transparency, and value for money.
Key Functions
Financial Management and Accountability
Ensures accurate recording, monitoring, and reporting of all financial transactions.
Maintains proper accounting records and asset registers in compliance with statutory requirements.
Supports audit processes and financial reporting obligations.
Information Technology Governance
Manages and secures the Trust’s ICT infrastructure, including networks, systems, and data.
Drives digital transformation initiatives and ensures business continuity.
Administrative and Operational Support
Provides efficient office management, facilities oversight, and logistical support services.
Provides management of fleet vehicles, CUG Services. Security services and office janitorial services.
Ensures effective records and registry management systems.
Corporate Planning and Policy Support
Leads the development, implementation, and monitoring of Corporate and Operational Plans.
Provides policy guidance to strengthen governance and institutional performance.
Corporate Image and Institutional Alignment
Supports the maintenance of the organization’s corporate identity.
Ensures alignment of programmes and initiatives with approved strategic objectives.
Strategic Importance
The Corporate Services Department is integral to the effective functioning of the JNHT, providing the systems, controls, and strategic direction necessary for all operational divisions to deliver on their mandates. Its role is particularly critical in:
Ensuring compliance with Government of Jamaica financial and administrative requirements;
Strengthening accountability, transparency, and risk management frameworks;
Enabling efficient resource allocation and utilization;
Supporting the execution of national heritage programmes and projects;
Driving organizational modernization, including ICT and human capital development.
Through these functions, the department directly contributes to the JNHT’s ability to fulfil its statutory mandate to develop, preserve, and promote Jamaica’s cultural heritage.
