Similar to its counterparts, Appleton Railway Station is a two-storey Jamaican/Georgian timber structure. A wooden staircase leads to the station master’s quarter that utilizes timber lattice work as a shading device.
Appleton Railway Station was built in approximately 1894. The building is covered with a zinc gable-end roof. The upper floor uses sash windows and jalousies on both doors and recessed panel timber doors. The building was declared a national monument on April 3rd, 2003.
