About this site

Trinity Baptist Church, built in 1840, is one of the oldest churches in Manchester. It was established in the free village of Porus shortly after emancipation, when the Baptist Church aided in finding new homes for formerly enslaved Africans.

Even though the church has undergone several changes, most of its key features are still in place, such as the walls, columns, and stained-glass windows.

Over the years, the church has supported various community initiatives, including soup kitchens and an evening school through Ministers in Action.
