About this site
Declared by the Jamaica National Heritage Trust on the 7th of January 2000, the monument to the Right Excellent Sir Alexander Bustamante was designed by Errol Alberga and was completed in October 1979.
The arch symbolizes great strength, is elegantly simple and graceful, but exudes an aura of power. The arch is narrow at the crest and gradually widens as it approaches its springing. The tomb lies in the centre. Seats have been incorporated into the design for those who wish to sit and meditate.
