About this site

Kingston Railway Station was built along Jamaican Georgian lines of architecture in 1845. It was constructed on a grand scale, symbolizing the economic importance of the city of Kingston as a centre of trade. The station is constructed of brick with prominent arcades on both levels at the east entrance end. The roof overhang on the track side is supported by Victorian cast iron brackets. The building has sash windows on the ground and upper floors.
